Growing Neighbors

We invite you to explore this site to learn more about Growing Neighbors, the organization, and what we can do to better connect you with gardens, resources, and our local food community here in the Inland Northwest.

This website is dedicated to School, Youth Program, Community, and Service Gardens. Each garden is individually owned and managed. Please contact the garden contact, representative, or manager for more information about a garden or (for community gardens open to public) to reserve a garden plot.

Community gardens are open to the public and can either offer individual plots or be gardened in common/communally. Examples include Arboretum Community Garden in Liberty Lake, the Fresh Start Community Garden in Spokane Valley, Chief Garry Community Garden, or Eden Community Garden. Community gardens, while open to the public, may be restricted to a particular neighborhood. Garden plot rental fees will vary.

Growing healthy neighborhoods through urban farming and community development is a vital initiative that fosters strong bonds within communities. Growing Neighbors focuses on collaborating with local organizations to cultivate relationships and produce alongside neighbors, promoting healthier lifestyles and sustainable practices. The core objective is to cultivate Neighborhood Families that engage in sharing meals, resources, and support, leveraging their unique talents to address each other's needs and creating a sense of extended family. By nurturing these connections through urban farming and community development, Growing Neighbors contributes to the overall well-being and resilience of neighborhoods, paving the way for a more vibrant and connected community.
